# Delete a cart item

**DELETE /2026-3/carts/{cartId}/items/{cartItemId}**

Deletes a specific item in the cart, removing it from the cart.

### Path parameters

- **cartId** (string(uuid))
  The unique identifier of the cart the item belongs to.

- **cartItemId** (string(uuid))
  The unique identifier of the cart item to delete.

The cart item has been successfully deleted.

### 400
The request parameters are missing or invalid.

### 401
Client authentication failed.

### 403
Missing one or more required scopes.

### 404
The specified cart item was not found in the specified cart.

### 500
An unexpected error occurred.
